In 2018, everything fell apart. My partner Brian died unexpectedly — and with him, the future I thought I was building. I couldn’t see what was next.
It’s taken years to find my way again. And I don’t tell you this for sympathy. I tell you because I understand what it means to rebuild — to create a life that feels true, that prioritizes beauty, pleasure, and self-fulfillment.
Rarely Pure, Never Simple is built on that kind of transformation.

I paint large, with a loose full-bodied expression to find acceptance in the chaos of each moment. I split my time between city and country life — balancing activity with quiet, ambition with space to breathe.

Being independent — and armed with a laptop — has let me work from all over the world. In 2019, I spent 11 months traveling to 14 countries. I love Italian food, local markets, and the colors of Jaipur. (Also: nachos.)
